Jennifer Bossé, B.Mus (piano)
Jennifer Bossé is a native Albertan. She acquired a Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Alberta and an Assoc. of Music in Piano Performance from the Western Board of Music. Since then, music has continued to be a labor of love for her. She has enjoyed an active musical career teaching piano, adjudicating, accompanying string players and vocalists, and serving in music ministry at her church. Her students were the recipients of many awards, both in piano examinations and festivals.
Mrs. Bossé served for several years on the executive of the Alberta Registered Music Teachers Association; both the Edmonton branch and the Provincial Board. She has been actively involved with the Contemporary Showcase Festival of Music in Edmonton, has served on the Provincial Music Festival Advisory Board and the Jablonski Endowment Board, and as Chairperson of the ARMTA Examining Board.
Mrs. Bossé has been participating in music festivals for most of her life; first as a young student, later as a teacher encouraging her own students and her two daughters in festival participation, then as an adjudicator. Since her retirement from teaching Mrs. Bossé remains active as a church musician, a piano adjudicator at Provincial Music Festivals, and as a substitute piano teacher for students whose teachers need to be away for a week or more during the year. She enjoys adjudicating and has a genuine love of the “festival fever” that overtakes many of us each spring!
Megan Crane, M.Mus (piano)
Raised in a musical family with a singer, a flautist, a drummer and a bagpiper, Megan’s musical interests are deeply rooted and diverse. At an early age, she was recognized as having an exceptional ear and a strong technical facility at the piano. In high school she placed consistently at the top in local and provincial music festivals and was later accepted with scholarship to the Bachelor of Music program at the University of Alberta where she completed her undergraduate degree with Stéphane Lemelin. The recipient of numerous awards and scholarships, Megan spent her summers at music schools across the country, including the Orford Arts Center, the Banff Center for the Arts and the Agassiz Summer Music Festival in Winnipeg. She continued to compete and succeed in local, provincial and national competitions. Megan completed her Master of Music Degree in piano performance at the University of Montreal where she studied with Jean Saulnier. She has performed across the country as a soloist, chamber musician and accompanist.
Shannon Kolotyluk, B.Mus (voice)
Shannon holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Alberta. Shannon continued her vocal studies as participant in the Opera NUOVA program and abroad at the International Mozarteum Sommerakademie in Salzburg, Austria. She has performed as a member and soloist with many ensembles including the University of Alberta Madrigal Singers, the University of Houston Choral Artists and The Houston Symphony Chorus. She enjoys engagements as a choral clinician and has adjudicated voice and choir at the Grand Prairie Encana Music Festival. She has a future engagement as Vocal Adjudicator with the Parkland Music Festival in the spring of 2012. Shannon is a recipient of the Beryl Barns Memorial Scholarship, the Winspear Foundation Vocal Scholarship and the Johann Strauss Foundation Scholarship for International Studies. Shannon has enjoyed her work as a Voice and Music Educator in Houston, Texas, at the Red Deer College Conservatory of Music, as vocal coach with Treehouse Youth Theatre and Red Deer Public Library’s Artsparks program. Shannon is owner of Cantare Studios in the town of Drayton Valley and with her husband, is founder and director of Rock Camp Alberta. Shannon and her husband Matt are enjoying raising their three young boys in Drayton Valley, AB.
Trevor Sanders, M.Mus (guitar)
Trevor Sanders began teaching guitar at MacEwan University's Alberta College Conservatory of Music in 2001. He is a graduate of the University of Alberta (MMus) and Augustana University College (BA specialized in Music). He's an active performer whose appearances as a chamber musician and a soloist have been heard on CBC Radio. Trevor accompanied the University of Alberta Madrigal Singers on their 2000 ARIA Award winning CD, Balulalow. He has also been involved with a number of guitar ensembles, and is a founding member of the University of Alberta guitar quartet and the Edmonton Guitar Trio. He has also performed as a soloist with the Alberta Baroque Orchestra. Trevor currently teaches guitar for MacEwan University's Alberta College Conservatory, and guitar and theory for the University of Alberta at its Augustana Campus.
